Outdoor Rink

The Pointe au Baril Outdoor Rink is a cherished winter gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Located in the heart of the community, the rink offers a welcoming space for skating, shinny, and outdoor fun throughout the winter season. The rink is located outside the Pointe au Baril Community Centre at 70 South Shore Road, Pointe au Baril.

Weather permitting, the rink is open daily during the winter months. Please be aware that this is an unsupervised rink and use is at the users’ own risk.

Permitted Activities  Restricted Activities 
  • Ice Skating
  • Ice Hockey
  • Broomball
  • Ringuette
  • Curling
  • No horseplay
  • No alcohol or drug consumption 
  • No food or drinks on the ice surface
  • No body-contact or checking 
  • No pets on the ice surface 

Other Details 

  • Ice must be 2-inches think prior to skating. Any repairs constituting a safety hazard will result in the closure of the rink.
  • Protective equipment (such as a helmet) is recommended.
  • Supervision of children is required at all times.
  • Users are to adhere to appropriate conduct and etiquette when using the rink.
  • All rink users hold harmless and indemnify the Township of The Archipelago. The Township does not assume any responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred while using the facility. Users acknowledge that participating in activities on the rink involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to, falls, collisions, and equipment failure. By using the rink, users voluntarily accept all risks associated with these activities.
