Tom Lundy

Councillor Ward 1

It is my privilege to once again serve Ward 1, the village of Pointe au Baril, for the 2022 to 2026 term of office.

In addition to my Council responsibilities, I am excited about serving the Township during this term on the following Committees and Boards:

  • Boating Safety Committee
  • Parry Sound District Social Services Board (DSSAB) Board of Directors
  • Parry Sound Public Library Board of Directors (Chair)
  • OPP, Parry Sound Community Safety Advisory Board
  • West Parry Sound Recreation & Culture Centre Joint Services Board (Alternate)

Municipal experience from my previous term (2014-2018) includes, but is not limited to Vice Chair, Finance Committee, Vice Chair, Human Resources Committee, Parry Sound DSSAB Board of Directors, Parry Sound District EMS Advisory Committee, and Georgian Cliffs Memorial Park Cemetery Board.

Business and related experience:

President, CEO, and Owner of Emerson Foods Inc.

Semi-retired after 42 years in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry. 

I have 22 years of volunteer service on various Boards of Directors; Pointe au Baril Islanders Association, Sturgeon Bay Pointe au Baril Ratepayers Association, Halton Condominium #238, Ontario Hockey Association, Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. 

During this term I continue to embrace every opportunity to enhance my qualifications by attending relevant educational workshops at AMO, ROMA & FONOM conferences. 

My passion for community service extends beyond my township duties. I am a member of Goodfellows Masonic Lodge and Waubuno Shrine Club, both in Parry Sound.  I take immense pride in the work we do for the community and in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Janice and I are delighted to call Pointe au Baril home.  Since 2000, PaB has been “the greatest place in the world” to our family (5 children, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren). We moved here full time in 2013. Together, we volunteer with many of the annual Pointe au Baril community events.
