NOTICE OF A SECOND PUBLIC MEETING

CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

(KANSUN)

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of The Archipelago deemed the following application to amend the Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended, a complete application under Subsection 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13, as amended.

AND TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of The Archipelago will hold a SECOND public meeting to clarify the proposed future development of this proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13, as amended.

Date of Public Meeting: Friday, February 17, 2017
Time of Meeting: 10:00 am
Place of Meeting:

Council Chamber, Township of The Archipelago Office,

9 James Street, Parry Sound, ON

File number: Z08-15
Owner: Kansun, Barbara
Agent: John Jackson Planner Inc.
Location of lands: Please refer to key map and sketch pdficon164 kb

THE PURPOSE
of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone Island B-569, being Parcel 24952 PSSS, in front of the geographic Township of Cowper, from the ‘Coastal/Island Residential' (CR) Zone to a ‘Coastal/Island Residential Exception ## (CR-##) Zone, to allow the owners to alter the building plans for their main dwelling. The original plans connected the main dwelling with the sleeping area.

THE EFFECT of the proposed site specific 'Coastal/Island Residential Exception ##’ (CR-##) zoning would be the configuration of the main dwelling and sleeping area to remain separate; as they were constructed. If allowed to remain separate, the property would be permitted the main dwelling and separate sleeping area building, while maintaining their existing rights to have three sleeping cabins on the property as well. The agent has stated that the intent of the application is to reduce the massing of the cottage structure from adjoining lands and waters.

ANY PERSON may make written and/or verbal representations either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Township of The Archipelago before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the Township of The Archipelago to the Ontario Municipal Board.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Township of The Archipelago before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION including the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is available for inspection at the Township office during normal office hours. Please direct any inquiries to the Planning Department.

DATED at the Township of The Archipelago this 24th day of January, 2017.
