i)   THURBER, Cleveland III – Application No. A10-14

Island 320A, being Parcel 961 PSNS
in front of the geographic Township of Harrison
Pointe au Baril Islands Neighbourhood
1 320A Island

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The applicant is seeking relief from 'Section 5.3i) Boathouses and Boatports and Section 6.1.3 Maximum Lot Coverage of the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended. A minimum lot area of 8000 square metres (2 acres) is required in order to permit the construction of a boatport. The maximum lot coverage on this 0.4 hectare (0.99 acre) island is 261 square metres (2814 square feet).

The purpose of the proposed application is to allow a boatport, on this 0.4 hectare (0.99 acre) island, and to allow the development of the property further beyond its maximum lot coverage.

The effect of the proposed variance would result in an 80 square metre (861 square feet) boatport on the property, as well as a maximum lot coverage of 351.4 square metres (3782.6 square feet) which would require a variance of 90.4 square metres (973.1 square feet).

The variances are being sought because the owner is seeking permission to permit the illegal, existing boatport and to allow for its expansion.
Cale Henderson; Planner, explained the nature of the application. Mr. John Jackson and Mr. Don Scale attended in support of the application.

Mr. John Jackson stated that the owner wishes to withdraw the application and explained the reasons for doing so.
