6.  HEARING OF APPLICATIONS

i)  KUNC, Rita – APPLICATION NO. A06-15

Part of Lot 25, Concession 10, designated as Part 16 on Plan PSR-889, being Parcel 13722 PSSS,
in the geographic Township of Conger
Crane Lake Neighbourhood

CIVIC ADDRESS: 16 South Fork Road

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The applicant is seeking relief from Section 5.1.2 ii)a) – Accessory Structures-Residential, which stipulates that accessory buildings shall not exceed one storey and 5 metres in height.

The purpose of the proposed application is to allow a variance of 1 storey and 1 metre (3.3 feet) from the maximum 5-metre maximum height that is permitted in Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended.

The effect of the variance would be the construction of a second storey on the existing garage, having a maximum height of approximately 6 metres (19.5 feet).

The variance is being sought because the owner currently utilizes the attic above the garage for storage, and access is by a drop down staircase. She wishes to be able to access a full second storey area, as it would make it more user friendly for her.

ii) JONES, Cliff and Doreen – APPLICATION NO. A07-15

CIVIC ADDRESS: 59 Penn Road

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The owners are seeking relief from Section 5.36 b) i) Sleeping Cabins, Wards 5 and 6, which stipulates that the maximum Total Floor Area of each sleeping cabin, including the floor area of any basement, does not exceed 40 square metres (430 square feet) in size.

The purpose of the proposed application is to allow a variance of 4.6 square metres (50 square feet) from the maximum size of a sleeping cabin. The effect of the proposed variance would be the construction of a sleeping cabin having a total floor area of 44.6 square metres (480 square feet).

The owner has stated that he wishes to have the extra living space in the sleeping cabin because he would like to have two bedrooms, a washroom and a games room for his expanding family.

iii) STEELE, Michael and Susan – APPLICATION NO. A08-15

Blackstone Lake Neighbourhood

CIVIC ADDRESS: 479 Blackstone Crane Lake Road

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The applicant is seeking relief from Section 7.1.3f) Minimum Side Yard Setback, of the Township’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended, which stipulates that the Minimum Side Yard Setback, is 6 metres (20 feet).

The purpose of the proposed application is to permit a variance of 4.63 metres (15.2 feet) from the Minimum Side Yard Setback. The effect of the proposed variance would be to allow a 71.3 square metre (768 square feet) garage to be constructed having a setback of 1.37 metres (4.5 feet) at one corner of the building.

The owners have stated that the variance is being sought because it is the only possible location to place the garage to maintain a 3 metre (10 feet) setback from the septic tile field and be able to access the waterfront via a trail that is situated between the tile field and the garage.
