PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The owner is seeking relief from Section 5.22 c) iii) of the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended, which states that nothing shall prevent the reconstruction of any non-complying building or structure that exists prior to the date of the passing of the By-law, provided that the total floor area does not increase, and reconstruction occurs on the same footprint as the existing structure.

The purpose of the proposed application is to allow for the relocation of an existing 50.5 square metre (544 square feet) second main dwelling, from the southwest portion of the island to a site on the northeast side, and increase the total floor area by 11.7 square metres (126 square feet).

The effect of the proposed variance would be the reconstruction of the existing second main dwelling on the northeast side of the island and increase the total floor area to 54.8 square metres (590 square feet) in size.

The variance is being sought because the owner wishes to relocate the second main dwelling further away from the existing main dwelling on the property.
