PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The applicants are seeking relief from 'Section 5.3i) Boathouses and Boatports of the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended. A minimum lot area of 8000 square metres (2 acres) and 100 metres (328 feet) of frontage is required in order to permit the construction of a boathouse. This property is 0.68 hectares (1.68 acres) in size, which includes the portion of Crown Reserve fronting the property, and has approximately 82 metres (269 feet) of frontage.

The purpose of the proposed application is to permit a boathouse, on this 0.68 hectare (1.68 acre) parcel of land. The effect of the proposed variance would be to allow the 44.59 square metre (480 square feet) boathouse to remain on the property.

The variance is being sought because the owners acquired the boathouse and placed it on the property, and are now seeking permission to permit the boathouse to remain.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:

The applicant is seeking relief from Section 6.1.3f) Minimum Side Yard Setback, of the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. A2000-07, as amended, which stipulates that the Minimum Side Yard Setback, is 6 metres (20 feet).

The purpose of the proposed application is to permit a variance of 5.4 metres (18 feet) from the Minimum Side Yard Setback. The effect of the proposed variance would be to allow a 112 square metre (1200 square feet) garage to be constructed in an area, and have a setback of 0.6 metres (2 feet) at one corner of the building.

The owners have stated that the variance is being sought because it is the only possible location to place the garage, and the area is backed by a rock wall that is between 1.5 metres (5 feet) and 4.6 metres (15 feet) high and sloping.
